Hello, we are The October Game, welcome to our page. We put an album out in July
2006 called Box Of A Billion Lights, the album was predominantly performed and recorded by us at our homes in Bedfordshire, with our friends lending a hand with some additional performances. Here are some things people have said about the album:

"Magnificent - A Joy From Start To Finish" - Cool Noise Fanzine

"Subtle and slow burning, a great chillout with a dark edge" - Bubblegum Slut Fanzine

"The music is complex and rife with delicious subtleties, bittersweet melodies and enticing, almost tidal atmospheres. I immediately fell in love with it" - DR Fanzine

"Box of a Billion Lights?" - That's a f**king big box that!" - Noel Gallagher, Oasis

"What stands out about Box of a Billion Lights is how well arranged it is. Upon a dark and expansive sound the vocals are strong and measured with image evoking lyrics" - Tasty Fanzine

Without a permanent live drummer we played many gigs with a session player following the release of the album. At the beginning of 2007 we embarked on a tour without live drums, instead using drum loops, samples and keyboards to recreate many of the drum and percussion tracks, which were the foundation of the songs from our debut album. This jaunt saw us tour extensively throughout the UK as well as make short trips to both Iceland and Czech Republic, where we were thrilled to see our music received so well.

In May 2007 Ollie Taylor joined the band filling the ever-vacant drum seat, adding a whole new depth of dynamic to live performances as well as another creative mind to our musical melting pot. Here are a couple of snippets from recent live reviews:

"Totally absorbing and always compelling. It is beautifully understated and utterly mesmerising. The musicianship allied to some thought-provoking lyrics make it so addictive" - Martin Stapleton, Bedford Esquires

"The October Game are one of this areas most enigmatic bands. You'll never forget these huge melodies and the subtle arrangements that are simple perfection. A set by The October Game is a very rewarding experience for audience and band alike, pure and solid passion." - Bob Mardon, Club85

We are currently in the midst of a bustling period of writing and recording from which we hope to run a steady stream of new sounds through our various internet dwellings that will eventually culminate with the recording and subsequent release of our second album, keep your eyes peeled for more details! We hope you enjoy the music and hope to see many of you at the gigs we have coming up.

Take Care
